* Born 27.11.1962 in Ostrava
* 1989 graduated from Faculty of Music, Academy of Fine Arts, opera
direction
(Prof. Ladislav Štros); studied simultaneously at the Drama Faculty,
Academy of Fine Arts, dramaturgy
* 1988 founded together with the scenographer Daniel Dvořák and
experimental opera studio, OPERA FURORE, opera that doesn’t brake
* 1990 appointed (together with Daniel Dvořák) to manage the Prague
Chamber Opera, producing in that year OPERA MOZART as its main artistic
programme
* 1992 beginning of regular summer performances by Opera Mozart at the
Estates Theatre, where he produces in 1992-1998 a Mozartian cycle
* From 1995, after denationalisation of the Chamber Opera, produces
privately the projects Opera Mozart and Opera Furore
* 1.7.1998-30.6.2002 Artistic Director, Literary Manager and Director,
Prague State Opera
* Since 1.7.2002 Head of National Theatre Opera
* His productions include over 50 titules, in addition to opera
productions, drama, puppet theatre and a number of alternative projects.
* Since 1991 working as a director and script writer for Czechoslovak
(later Czech) television, producing more than one hundred mainly musical
programmes. Apart from live bradcasts and recording of concerts and
opera performances produced several musical documents, musical films and
operas. He has a predilection for 20th century art and artists.
