| Kevin has
worked extensively in London’s west end, the USA and South-East Asia as
a musical director for theatre producers Cameron Mackintosh and Andrew
Lloyd Webber. He has conducted orchestras all over the world, including
serving for two seasons as principal conductor for the Central Ohio
Symphony Orchestra. In 1994, Kevin became the first recipient of the
Sir Charles Mackerras Conducting Award, having been the joint-winner of
the Bellhouse Conducting Competition and the Willem van Otterloo
Fellowship at the Australian Opera in the previous year. In
collaboration with Victor Kazan (book/lyrics), he has written
Rebecca-The Musical and Atlantis. Equally at home in the field of music
and audio technologies, Kevin is researching in the dramaturgy of sound
design and its implications in new forms of virtual storytelling and
polymorphic narrative for theatre. He holds a Ph.D. from the University
of Melbourne and is Head of the Applied Music Degree Program at Box Hill
Institute, Victoria, Australia. |
