| At present, a Professor of English at Jahangirnagar
University, Dhaka, Bangladesh. Have been teaching English and European
Literature for more than 32 years. The area of specialization is drama
and theatre. Had been associated with some productions of a number of
groups in our country. A teacher of history of western theatre,
aesthetics and theatre appreciation in a private theatre school. Have
translated a number of plays from English to Bangla and conducted some
drama translation workshops of students. Have participated in a number
of national and international conferences on literature and drama. I am
a founder-member of the Bangladesh Centre of International Theatre
Institute. My special responsibilities include publication and editing
of the Bulletin of ITI Bangladesh centre, both in English and Bangla.
Have edited some six documentations of international theatre conferences
held at Dhaka. Have to my credit two books on drama and theatre. I am a
regular contributor to various newspapers and periodicals as a theatre
critic. |
