Students will create headdresses and masks based on the dolls received by
children of the Hopi Indian tribe of the Southwestern US. Children receive
these fanciful dolls from spirit people of the Hopi religion known as Katsinam.
The Katsinam arrive with the winter solstice bringing the promise of a new
spring and a bountiful harvest.
