50 Years of Stage Lighting Design . . . and Next?

Dramatic changes have occurred in stage lighting since the 1950's. Artistic and
technological advances, and improvement in the status of the lighting designer
have contributed to lighting playing an ever-larger role in productions around
the world. In 2007 this revolution in stage lighting only accelerates.
The speaker has lived through these five decades of development. Some things are
unrecognizable, while some seem much the same. Does the past indicate a pattern
for the future? What almost unimaginable new opportunities might soon exist?
