| Aristophanes In Amsterdam (BDA_NL01) | ||
| A city in
turmoil, building sites al around. Corruption and failed ‘grand-objects’
dominate the front pages. The Amsterdam of 2007 feels remarkably like
the city of Aristophanes’ Birds. Location theatre is one of the major characteristics of convention breaking Dutch theatre, just remember the Dutch entry at the last PQ. The department of Theatre Studies of the University of Amsterdam runs an annual ‘stage design in 3D’ course. This year the course will create a stage environment in 3D animation, supported by a soundscape, especially for Scenofest. Viewers will be able to ‘experience-a-run-through’ of the performance The Birds, situated on location in the city of Amsterdam. |
