‘It’s just my words that give you wings’
A piece developed from and inspired by the text of The Birds involving various practitioners and performance styles. This work responds to popular culture and comedy performance taking on a variety of post-modern motifs and perspectives. It is a tailor-made piece for the space in the Rose Theatre on the Edge Hill University campus, a response by the student practitioners and designers to the work – drawing upon dramaturgy and editing skills. Using multiple zones and locations in the space, drawing in the audience and incorporating multimedia the performance moves and encourages interaction. The design and lighting elements involve traditional/historic/classical and modern inspirations.
