Scenic Design for The Birds (BDA_US27) |
|||||||
| This scenic design
for “The Birds” is based on the premise that the Gods are all-knowing.
Even though Peisthetairus and Euelides, along with the Birds, believe
they are smarter than the Gods in creating a wall between the earth and
the sky, the Gods are the ones that are actually pulling the strings. In
this design the Gods are the characters on the lower level and control
the movement of the Birds pedestals. All characters will enter from
below with the main action placed on the top level. I believe this
design can be used in a proscenium theatre as well as two, three, and
four sided theatres. I believe my design is as universal as the ideas
expressed in the play. |
