I moved to the US from Sweden in 1979 to study costume design at Webster University in St. Louis. I continued on to graduate school, but instead of getting a degree I created a line of women’s wear that I successfully marketed. Positions at Jantzen, Inc. as swimwear designer and Head Designer at Hanna Andersson, Inc. in Portland, Oregon, followed. After many years in the corporate world I needed more creativity and explored weaving, jewelry making and paper-cut art. I have participated in several juried art shows in Sweden and the US. A Costumer position at Linfield College in McMinnville brought me back to the theatre. After 2 years of designing, teaching and heading the costume shop I decided that this was a permanent career shift. I am now a first year MFA student at the University of Oregon and hope to teach costume design after graduation.
