Carmen Alatorre was born in Guadalajara, Mexico. She completed a Bachelors Degree in Art History in Mexico City where she became interested in Theatre issues after working on several research projects on the subject. She has painting, sculpting and jewelry crafts skills. Carmen is currently in her first year as a MFA Theatre Design Student  at University of British Columbia in Vancouver, where she expects to become a Professional Costume Designer for Theatre and Film.
