A practicing theatre designer and visual artist, with experience in cultural research Casey’s introduction to theatre design began with the Stage Company in the 70’s-80’s, the State Opera of South Australia, Lighthouse (State Theatre Company), The Singers Company and Troupe. He was appointed  Designer in residence with Harvest Theatre Company from 1984-9 touring throughout Austalia.  Casey took up an appointment as Senior Lecturer in Applied Arts at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing  from 1989-1997 and free-lanced  as a designer throughout South East Asia. Awarded Designer of the Year 1992 in Hong Kong for Don Juan and by the Design Institute of Australia for his Cententary of Federation design “AlieNation” in 2001.  Casey took up his appointment iat the Adelaide Centre for the Arts in 2004. He is an individual member of International Organization of Scenographers, Theatre Architects and Technicians. He is married to Jayne Boase and has six children.
