Jenifer Darbellay is originally from Calgary, Alberta Canada where she studied Textiles at Alberta College of Art and Design. She has been a working Costume Designer for the last twelve years in Theatre and Film. Her credits include The Skin of Our Teeth (University of British Columbia - Dept. of Theatre, Film and Creative Writting), Playrites Festival 2003-07’ (Alberta Theatre Projects), Grandstand Show 2002- 06’ (Calgary Exhibition and Stampede), The Clean House, Marion Bridge, Plan B, Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, Amadeus (ATP), A Streetcar Named Desire, Fire, Counsellor-at-Law, Sherlock Holmes (Theatre Calgary), Shakespeare In the Park 1998- 2005 (Mount Royal College Dept. of Theatre and Speech) and Bash, Cocktails, Pervert (Groundzero Theatre). She is very pleased to be getting her Master of Fine Arts at UBC studying with Alison Green, and is planning to create a grouping of sculptures revolving around the psychology of garments during her time in school.
